Bears football loses game at kickoff | The Wanderer Online

The Golden Bears football team faced the Calgary Dinos on Friday September 7 in a classic Battle of Alberta. However, just like in 2011, it was clear that the Dinos were a much, much better squad. Calgary prevailed, 65-6. From the kickoff, Calgary snatched the ball on an Alberta fumble… and didn’t look back. By halftime, Calgary built a 35-0 lead – an insurmountable score – considering the Bears are nearing the 365-day anniversary of going without a regular season touchdown.

These tweets from Kevin Jesus and Nathan Liewicki basically sum up the game:

Fortunately for the Bears, they’re only 0-2. With some easier opponents coming up on the schedule (1-1 Regina is next) and a return to home turf, there’s a chance that the young squad can squeak its way into the post-season.
