Bev Ray: President, Canadian Union of Postal Workers (Edmonton Local)

As a single parent working at the mail sorting plant in Edmonton, Bev became a very effective shop steward, defending her members when they needed help. Before long she found herself nominated for President and winning handily. Do not discount the talent involved in defending people. She demonstrated commitment combined with restraint and discipline; and rose above the petty to engage the essential issues involved.

Bev Ray is considered by many as one of the best Edmonton Local Presidents in recent memory. Her care for others and contributions to countless Edmontonians and their families does not go unnoticed, and she is deserving of this accolade as a member of the Top 100 Edmonton Women in Business.
