Bree Emmerson: President, BE3 Designs

At the age of 12, Bree Emmerson coded her first website. While she was still in high school, she earned income by building websites for small businesses in the Okanagan. Since that time, she has obtained her diploma in Computer Graphic Design, and has worked alongside top multimedia marketing companies in both B.C. and Alberta. In January of 2010, Bree founded website services company, BE3Designs (pronounced B-E-3-Designs), and based her freelancing out of Edmonton, Alberta. BE3Designs began small, with only a handful of clients by its first birthday. After more than three strong years in business, BE3Designs proudly serves a generous number of clients, located in Edmonton and across the country.

In offering web design, development, search engine optimization, and social media marketing, BE3Designs has become a community sponsor for such local events as WordCamp, the Yeggies, and most recently, Ladies Learning Code. Bree Emmerson is responsible for founding, organizing, and facilitating the Edmonton Chapter of Ladies Learning Code. This is a national not-for-profit organization that runs local, monthly workshops, offering a social and collaborative way for women (and men) to learn beginner-friendly programming and coding skills. Furthermore, this fall, Bree will be joining Brittney Le Blanc to co-organize YEG Girl Geek Dinners. To connect with Bree Emmerson, visit BE3Designs online.
