Justin Selner is an athlete, leader, and scholar—a formidable achievement in our fast-paced world. Surely, we have many people around us who excel in one thing or the other, or worse, dabble in too many activities, failing to be outstanding in any. However, Justin has been able to swim at the varsity level, successfully get through his Political Science honours program, and lead a successful student group—all within his five years at the University of Alberta.
As a member of the greater Edmonton community, Justin was a head coach and team manager for Special Olympics Edmonton. He also volunteered with Oxfam, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS research, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. On campus, he served as the president of the Golden Future club. His commitment to serving this community was acknowledged with the Lou Hyndman Edmonton Glenora Award this year.
There is no doubt that Justin is headed to achieving formidable things out there in the world, as he has done at the University of Alberta.
