Nancy Siever received her diploma in Business Administration from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in 1981. Then, she and her husband Dave started up Mind Alive Inc., in order to manufacture and repair dental equipment for the treatment of Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction. The company quickly evolved to include biofeedback equipment. In 1987, the company began researching, designing and producing Audio-Visual Entrainment devices as a non-pharmaceutical approach to alleviating stress and resolving Seasonal Affective Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder and sleep issues. Their AVE technology is also very effective at improving sports and academic performance. They have 20 clinical studies on their DAVID devices.
Nancy believes that all people deserve to be treated with respect and dignity – from employees to customers and suppliers. Over the past 32 years, Nancy has maintained the belief that service is paramount in making sure people get value for their time and money spent with Mind Alive. Mind Alive now enjoys a world-wide reputation for offering extraordinary customer service and effective, superior products. Nancy attributes the company’s success to her wonderful team of staff and distributors. In her official capacity, Nancy oversees all financial aspects of Mind Alive as well as distribution and the website.
As much as Nancy enjoys her contributions to Mind Alive, she also connects to her community through her volunteer activities around food security, including the Bread Run and serving as President of Sustainable Food Edmonton, starting up a community garden and the Little Green Thumbs after-school program in her church. She raised two beautiful children and is most recently thoroughly enjoying her new role as grandmother to four grandchildren.
