When Nisha Patel arrived at the U of A, she hit the ground running, and has over time picked up her pace, year by year. In 2012, she solidified perhaps her most impressive year thus far as an undergraduate, becoming one of the best university debaters in Canada, while excelling in a wide range of School of Business case competitions and leadership events. An eloquent speaker with a keen intellect, it is no surprise to see Nisha set the standard of excellence for her peers in business.
Nisha has served on the University of Alberta Debate executive, as novice member at-large, VP Finance and now as President. She is the Vice-President West of the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate and even dabbled in the SU’s first-ever Undergraduate Research Symposium. Whether it’s traveling across Canada to participate in case competitions such as ICBC or planning high school debate championships, Nisha is constantly in the midst of doing something.
It comes as no surprise that Nisha has garnered impressive accolades within both the debate community and the School of Business. Comfortable with the spontaneity and analytical rigour required for public speaking, Nisha is primed for success in whatever she moves on to following graduation. A strong contributor to her local community and an established debater on the Canadian scene, Nisha is a deserving member of the Top 100.
