Phyllis Clark joined the University of Alberta as Vice-President (Finance and Administration) in May 2002.
As VP (F&A), Phyllis provides a link between the Administration and the Board of Governors on all matters relating to University finances and human resources including supply management services, internal audit, strategic analysis, risk management services and administrative IT services.
Phyllis came to Edmonton from Toronto’s York University. Prior to joining York, she was with the Ontario Government as Assistant Deputy Minister to the Management Board of Cabinet, as Chief Economist of the Province, and as Assistant Deputy Minister of Economic Policy, Ministry of Finance.
Phyllis is a member of the Board of the Bank of Canada, Edmonton Airport Advisory Board, and the Royal Mayfair Board of Governors. She sits on, and currently is chair of, the Universities’ Academic Pension Plan Board (UAPP), and the City of Edmonton Independent Council Compensation Committee. Former governance positions include the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, Chair, Edmonton Concert Hall Foundation and Edmonton Symphony Society, and member of the Canadian Universities Reciprocal Insurance Exchange (CURIE).
