Victoria Comes to Town, Only to be Blown-out by the Golden Bears | The Wanderer Sports

Throughout the first few games of the 2012-2013 CIS basketball season, the Golden Bears dealt with a string of injuries. The aches and pains provided some resistance to their success on court, but things have taken a sharp turn for the better. With a healthy line-up, the Bears trounced Lethbridge last week. And on November 23 2012, they did the exact same, annihilating the Victoria Vikes. The weekend doubleheader for the Bears consists of Victoria followed by UBC, later today. Both games were expected to be close ones, but alas, game one was like pitting the Charlotte Bobcats against the San Antonio Spurs. Now you can bet that the UBC T-birds are shaking in their Air Jordans; the Golden Bears led by 17 after the first quarter on Friday, and completed the game with an 89-54 edge. This is child’s play.

Without a doubt, this type of performance will earn the Bears another spot in the CIS Championship. Check out the Go Centre at 8 pm this evening for one of the biggest games of Canadian amateur basketball in 2012.
