Why Tim Hortons Double-Doubles Add Unnecessary Fat to Your Waistline | By Michael Dietrich

This might really surprise you. When ordering a coffee, say a Tim Hortons double-double, you may assume you are getting two cream, two sugar. However, this is not really the case. Tim Hortons wants all cup sizes to taste the same, so the amount of cream and sugar is relative to the cup size you order. This makes a HUGE difference nutritionally.

When ordering a small double-double, you get 110 calories, 6 grams of fat and 12 grams of sugar.

When ordering an extra large double-double, you get 320 calories, 18 grams of fat and 36 grams of sugar.

Drinking a double-double a day can add about 2240 calories to your week which for most people is a whole extra day’s worth of food or calories. Multiple that by four and you get almost 9000added calories to your month. If that energy or calories is not expended, it can pack an extra 2.5 lbs of fat to your waist line. Therefore, here are some simple damage control solutions:
-Get milk instead of cream
-Use Splenda instead of sugar
-Order a smaller size
-Try ordering tea (green tea has fat-burning detoxifying properties. This one simple change to your diet could help you LOSE 2.5 lbs a month when switching over from a XL DD order).

Use splenda instead of sugar? If you did a little research on artificial sweeteners you would not make that recommendation. If you are concerned about calories or sugar intake, then order a black coffee. If you want it sweet then use real sugar and cut it down to as little as possible.

Could you provide a study with credible backing?

Here is a piece on aspartame in the globe and mail. Aspartame has a reputation for being as evil as the Devil. This shines some light on the topic.

It took corruption to get Aspartame approved by the FDA. It was not initially approved until they bought people/votes to approve it. In experiments, aspartame caused cancer in rodents. Cancer is the #1 killer now, because everything is contaminated. Pesticides in the water and food, plastic in the Ocean, and fake sugar in your pop. The truth about aspartame can’t be found easily. But you’ll find it if you dig.

Splenda doesn’t have Aspartame, but artificial sweeteners are not good for us. I have no choice, as I have diabetes.
